http://youtu.be/J4XWM-n_SN0 My friend had a small key hanging from her necklace, but when she told me it didn't unlock anything, I knew I needed to give that key a purpose. So, I measured it carefully and designed a beautiful jewelry box specifically to fit the key. The clear front is made of 3mm laser-cut acrylic, which provides a stunning display of the contents inside. To add some extra details, I created bushings from thin-walled brass tube cut with a Dremel, measuring 2.5mm in diameter and 0.225mm thick. The rest of the parts were either off-the-shelf items or 3D printed. It took me approximately two hours to assemble everything, but printing all the parts was a much longer process, requiring over twenty hours of continuous printing. I used my Prusa i3 MK3 printer with 1.75 PLA filament at a 20% infill rate. In some cases, I had to flip parts upside down to avoid infilling, while in others, I needed to turn infilling on. However, I always try to minimize its use. This is just another amazing creation from MarginallyClever.com! For the latest robot innovations and projects, be sure to follow @imakerobots on Instagram.
