This is a custom spool holder designed for fitment within a food dehydrator or filament dryer. It can accommodate common 1 kg spools and larger ones, including a 3 kg spool. It's based heavily on established designs but features adjustable barriers on the sides of the spool to prevent filament unwinding from new spools. The build shown in the pictures utilizes four 608 bearings, commonly known as skateboard or skate bearings. Alternatively, it can be built entirely out of printed parts if you print your own 608 bearings, such as those found here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/17916 Instructions: Print one of each piece except the following: - Filament barrier (x2) - Bearing peg (x3) Print the 60 mm spindle and normal barriers if you plan to use common 1 kg spools. If you'll be using larger spools, print the 100 mm spindle and large barriers. Recommended for printing with brims are the following parts: - Spindle shaft - Bearing peg - Filament barrier (normal and large) If you intend to use this in a dehydrator, consider using high-temperature filament such as PETG or ABS.
