Vase Mode - Tintin style Moon Rocket
prusaprinters

This is my take on a Tintin style moon rocket made up of a body and 3 fins each of which can be printed in vase mode (spiralize outer contour in Cura) resulting in a quick smooth seamless print. The parts slot easily together.

A section of moon surface for use as a display base which will also print in vase mode positioned on its side is included.

Scalable and printed well at 75%.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2 mm layer height, 0.4 mm line width

Infill:

Nil

Filament: X3D PLA

Notes:

Vase mode (spiralize outer contour)
I found if I increased line width while printing the body the nose cone became deformed due to insufficient part cooling (perhaps preventable by printing slower).
The base may deform as it cools this can be reduced by removing from build plate before complete cooling (exposing the vent hole) or increasing line width.

Category: Scans & Replicas
