Vase Mode IKEA ALEX multiple inserts

Vase Mode IKEA ALEX multiple inserts

prusaprinters

Vase ModeThese are solid models. They are designed to use vase mode. Enable vase mode in your slicer (in prusa slicer, it is print settings → layers and perimeters → spiral vase, then ok). This will make them print a single bottom layer, and a single perimeter, but it will include the squiggly handle.ProsLighter, less plastic, less time than the original boxesConsThey are weaker. Sponges or cotton balls are fine, but a 3x3 box of M8 screws is a bad ideaWIPI designed these, and I've printed something similar before. I am printing one now, but I won't print all the sizes myself. Please post a make of any you make, so people can have confidence in the models (or understand the weaknesses).Battery HoldersThe battery holders probably won't work in these. For one thing, the inside dimension is larger on these boxes, because the walls are thinner. For another thing, a big box of batteries is heavy, and these are weak.CAD - OnShapeI designed these in onshape (there are free hobby accounts available). There are parmeters for the size of the box, the height and the basic dimension (the size of a 1x1). https://cad.onshape.com/documents/121fe6dac20e1f09f0473af4/w/fc9e14df5ed9ac6937361269/e/7f68acb017843aeb7c85c157?renderMode=0&uiState=6326365d6c28e77cc15bff8f
