Vase Mode Hexagonal Modular Drawers
pinshape
These designs print extremely quickly and consume less filament due to their optimized Spiral Vase Mode (also known as Spiralize Outer Contour). In comparison, a conventionally printed hexagonal drawer system prints in 1/4 of the time and uses only 1/3 of the filament for equivalent volume. These prints are surprisingly robust due to the use of dovetail joints on enclosures and ribs within drawers. Add side supports or "feet" to provide additional strength to the sides. This design has been extensively tested by printing over 100 parts until it was deemed ready for public sharing. Testing has been conducted with Cura 4.4 and Slic3r 1.3. Since tolerances depend on wall thickness generated by the slicer, it is recommended to print with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.4mm line width in your slicer settings. Instructions for Spiral Vase mode printing are included in a PDF file. Before purchasing this model, you can test the fit by printing the free Mini Modular Small Parts Drawers. The hexagonal drawers can interlock above or below the Vase Mode Modular Small Parts Drawers. Recommended nozzle: 0.4 mm (and 0.4 mm line width setting) Maximum build volume: 80 x 90 x 150 mm. Special Slicer Setting: Cura: Spiralize Outer Contour Slic3r: Spiral Vase
