The stunning artifact boasts intricate designs made from strips of leaves and braids, accompanied by a frieze of fifteen horsemen. Resembling Attic marble funerary vases from the fourth century BC, this masterpiece likely held the remains of the deceased. Uncovered in Pergamum during Sultan Murad I's reign (1359-1389), it initially contained two alabaster urns overflowing with gold, now safely stored in Hagia Sophia, Istanbul. Meanwhile, this particular vase is proudly displayed at the Louvre Museum.
