Vase Faun of Pompeii
thingiverse
Dancing Faun of Pompeii hollow mask.\nActually, it's not an original sculpture. I modified it to make it easier to print in spiral/vase mode.\nIt's not completely watertight due to slicing software limitations today, although it can be sealed with epoxy (as I did). With technology advancing, one day it should be possible to print it watertight without any post-processing!\nI filled it with fluorescent liquid and placed it on a concrete stand.\nMore information is available at:\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: Prusa i3 Bart's Garage edition\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nResolution: 0.3\nInfill: 0%\nNotes: Printed in FormFutura HDglass See Through Orange Fluor. Filled with fluorescent liquid.\nHow I Designed This\nI wanted a really challenging project for my liquid-filled prints initiative. After experimenting with a scan of my face, I downloaded Dancing Faun by CosmoWenman and optimized it for spiral printing. I especially increased slope angles (spiral print on slopes below 45% is too difficult for most machines) and removed holes through the model. What I ended up with is a compromise between the original shape of the sculpture and FDM printers/slicers capabilities.
