Vase aux Oreilles (Sèvres Manufacture)

It was common practice to produce multiple sizes of each cach model of vase manufactured at Sèvres, with the vase aux Oreilles being made in six distinct sizes. The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a couple of these vases in 1958. Factory records indicate that the vases would have cost approximately 1500 livres, an amount equivalent to the annual salary of a lower-level professional worker at the time.
