VAS Banshee Motor Mount
thingiverse
I'm designing a motor mount for my Video Aerial Systems Banshee plane, as the original polycarbonate mount failed within just one week and shipping costs for their metal CNC mount were out of control. I decided to build my own mount to avoid these issues. This is the second version, after my first model broke down in less than a day of flying or landing. To assemble this mount, you'll need 7-8mm screws, which can be reinforced with a washer at the mounting point for added strength if desired. I printed mine using ABS (a recommended material over PLA), with a layer height of 0.2mm and 25% infill, along with custom supports specifically designed for the screw holes. The resulting structure felt incredibly robust. To secure it in place, hot glue was applied to both sides; however, be careful not to use too much, as excessive glue can make removal difficult if it breaks.
