Various 3D periodic tables
thingiverse
Create an OpenSCAD file using data from various websites that includes different trends of elements. The file can be customized for further adjustments. It is recommended to place the file in the same directory as write.scad. STL files are provided, which represent distinct trends such as 1st ionization energy and Z effective. Labels on each STL file can be concealed with duct tape for a mystery trend activity. Previous versions had minor warping issues, but they have been improved. Print the table on a Replicator 2 using natural filament, and use a marker to color the symbols. A special shout-out goes to specific chemistry students for their participation in this learning process.
