Variable Magnetic Transmission

Variable Magnetic Transmission

thingiverse

This is a prototype of a variable magnetic transmission that relies on Eddie currents to transfer power. The drive train consists of 5mm HTD pullies, 2 70 tooth belts, and 2 150 tooth belts, all 5mm HTD. The output is to a 1/2-inch hex shaft. The transmission is design to have a dual 48v 2000w watt motor input, and there are 8 mounting holes on the side for the motors. the connection from the motors to the transmission drive train will likely be t8f chain. The adjustability is going to be controlled by a Nema 17 stepper motor that will drive 4 separate 1/4 16 acme thread screws. There are still parts I am working on right now that are missing from the design including a belt tensioner, spacers for bearings, and some modifications to the drive pullies to adapt a Nema 17 shaft to a half inch hex shaft. I am still working on this and will be for a while, I will try to update the models regularly.
