I've been experimenting with acetone vapor smoothing of ABS prints lately, but they kept merging with the paper due to accidental contact. To prevent this issue, I designed a cage that isolates the ABS from the paper while maintaining proximity to the object. The cage must be printed in PLA or another material that doesn't react with acetone for obvious reasons. Position the cage inside your vaping chamber and place the ABS object within it. Next, wrap acetone-soaked paper around the cage before sealing the chamber tightly.
