Van der Waals State Surface (semi-log scale)
thingiverse
This 3D printed surface visualizes the van der Waals Equation of State from Classical Thermodynamics. It displays the coordinates of all equilibrium points accessible to a dense gas made up of interacting molecules with a finite minimum volume, in terms of its three average thermodynamic coordinates: temperature, pressure and volume. This is an alternate version of the state surface, where volume has been represented through a logarithmic scale, making it easier to grasp the critical point and curvature singularity.
