A replica of an 18th-century instrument is being crafted to accommodate an Aulos 503 head joint. To ensure a precise fit, the joints require some adjustments using fine abrasive paper. This intricate project comprises three distinct components: body, foot, and foot decoration. The body and foot demand robust walls, at least 1.2mm thick, to allow for effective tuning, whereas the decoration can be relatively slender, requiring only 5% infill to achieve its intended design.
