Valve Index Wide Face Gasket
thingiverse
I have a distinctive facial structure with a broad face shape. I crafted a custom gasket for it by flattening the standard valve model provided to me. As a newcomer to CAD design, 3D printing technology, and Valve Index ownership, I've encountered challenges. My large head size interferes significantly with the latter. To provide context, my inter-pupillary distance is 72, and no pair of headphones fits comfortably. Consequently, I modified Valve's index_hmd_assembly.stl file in Blender to create a more accommodating version. For users with smaller build platforms, a whole or bisected model is available. However, please note that magnets are not included in the package. To achieve proper padding, 3/8-inch weather stripping from Home Depot serves as an adequate solution. Version 2 updates (August 16, 2019): I eliminated unnecessary indents and holes within the design. Additionally, I saved the STL file with a higher quality mesh to enhance its overall performance.
