Valve Index Headset Tightening Knob Replacement I designed and printed this replacement knob even before getting my Valve Index, knowing I needed a better solution. The OEM knob snaps off, and this one snaps on securely. After many trial and error iterations with sizing, I found that this design works best for me. To ensure the perfect fit, I recommend printing only the attachment end to size it according to your printer's specs. You may need to adjust scaling by just 0.03 to get it just right. Even though it snaps on easily, pulling it to the side will make it remove quickly. However, this larger knob makes adjusting the headset much easier. I hope my design inspires you to create an even better fitting one! After printing, I smoothed the part with XTC-3D and painted the top red. I also added black wash for a gritty look. UPDATE: After two iterations of this design, I've found that PLA is not strong enough in delicate parts to withstand inevitable drops and bangs from the headset. I highly recommend using a stronger plastic for a more durable replacement knob.
