You can push the Valve Index IPD to its maximum 70mm setting, but adding this intermediary piece allows you to gain a few extra millimeters of adjustment. The component fits snugly between the lenses, and you may need to press it gently into place on either side. Be careful not to overdo it, as excessive force could damage the rubber cover surrounding the IPD.
