Valve Index Knuckle Grip (No magnets)
thingiverse
After many, many revisions, I'm pretty sure I've come pretty close to a good take on a gunstock grip design for the Valve Index Knuckles. And they don't need magnets! The grip part that you hold on to is made to be as thin as I could make it, to nullify issues with grip registration and discomfort holding the grip for more than 10 minutes. To accommodate this, I've added a supporting beam in front of the grip which allows for much more durability in an otherwise fragile package.Lastly, I've cut 18 mm from the middle of the rail, since most prints with rails seem to have rails that are too tight to actually slide unto their respective rail. Though, in a revision of these models, those 18 mm should be closer to 17 mm, probably.I used tree support and turned both of them upside down to give the rail a chance to be printed properly.Brim was used.I prefer to use ABS with my builds, but PLA and other materials should be fine as well.If you do go with ABS, be warned that post-processing may take some time. I covered the grip part in a thin layer of tape so I don't scratch my controllers further.
