Valve Index Fan Mod
thingiverse
After 2 weeks, my Valve Index stopped working altogether. The left display/eye failed, and I noticed that the headset was overheating in this area, prompting me to look into a cooling mod. However, after researching further, I discovered that using Torx screws could void the warranty, so I decided not to open up the device. Instead, I spent some time creating an adapter for a fan. The ideal fan would be a 40mm one, preferably silent. To secure this fan in place, you'll need to apply medical tape to the bottom of it to create enough friction to hold it steady. I haven't had the chance to test it yet since my new Index is supposed to arrive next week.
