This rail is specifically designed for use with the Valve Index Controllers. You can choose to utilize either the Twist-In feature or the Drop-In Magnetic feature, and you're even free to mix and match them as you see fit. For example, you could use a Twist Top on one hand and a Drop Top on the other - simply flip the core over! The space for the magnets is currently 20mm by 6 mm in diameter by height. To print a full set, you'll need to create: - 1 Forward Knuckle - 1 Aft Knuckle - 2 Pipes - 2 Cores - 2 Bolts You'll also require: - 2 magnets measuring 20mm x 6 mm in diameter by height Please note that this rail is designed for right-handed use only, although you can attempt to mirror the design if you prefer. However, be aware that this entire project has yet to be thoroughly tested. Key features of this rail include: - The ability to function as a twist-to-lock or magnet-to-lock mechanism - Multiple attachment points for rails - The capacity to link rails together to achieve desired lengths Potential issues with this design may arise from: - Threaded parts failing to thread correctly - Interlocking pieces not locking due to printing tolerances - This rail having never been printed, a fact that's being openly acknowledged - Concerns surrounding the fore and aft knuckle clamp angles Future improvements to this project include: - The addition of a rear stock component (though this will be delayed until the main elements are addressed) - A left-handed version of the rail - Specification of a particular type of magnet for use with this design This is an ongoing work in progress, and it's recommended that you approach with caution.
