Valve Index Controller Magnetic Gun Stock

Valve Index Controller Magnetic Gun Stock

This is an ergonomic magnetic gun stock designed specifically for the Valve Index Controllers. It has been thoroughly tested to work seamlessly with most firearms in *Onward*, including those equipped with fore-grips, and provides a stable feel that enhances accuracy. The stock lines up perfectly with various scopes such as holo sight, red dot, 2x, 4x, and 12x, but the eye relief on a Marsoc 4x scope may be slightly longer when paired with an M16 in *Onward*. Additionally, it has been successfully tested in *Pavlov* with all firearms in the shooting range, including the P90. The controllers snap into place easily, requiring minimal muscle memory compared to non-magnetic mounts. I designed the stock so that the magnets hold the controllers firmly even when pulled back but release easily when tilted forward. This magnetic gun stock requires four neodymium magnets measuring 3/4" x 3/16" (+new option for 20x5 mm). The N42 magnets used are rated for 15.5 lbs (7 kg) from [K&J Magnetics](https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DC3). Each controller holds strongly, but not too strongly. **Instructions:** Print the parts as they appear in the STL file to achieve optimal strength. Use 2 mm wall thickness, 30% infill, and support everywhere, along with a 4 mm brim for adhesion. It may seem like a lot of parts are required, but many of them serve different options, so don't waste time printing unnecessary ones. To attach the magnets, use Gorilla super glue gel after roughing up the inside of the magnet hole with a small screwdriver to increase surface area. The glue bonds well to the magnet - it took smashing my test design with a hammer to dislodge the magnet. **Make sure you have the magnet poles facing in the correct direction before gluing them in**. SlideLockF, FrontAttach, and PinF are for the left-hand Index controller, while SlideLockR, RearAttach, and PinR are for the right hand. Do not glue these parts together; they are designed to be easily installed and removed from the controllers and are very sturdy when assembled. FrontAttach and RearAttach fit the controllers precisely, so it may feel like a puzzle the first time you assemble it. If everything is lined up correctly, you don't need to force them into place. The other parts - BaseF, BaseR, BackStock, and ButtH - can be glued together, but I recommend wrapping the joints with hockey tape instead. **Updates:** * **Option for smaller printers:** The long mid-section (index_stock-BaseR) has been broken up into two smaller pieces to accommodate smaller printers. Print *index_stock-BaseM_short.stl* and *index_stock-BaseM_short.stl* instead. * **Added Files for left-handed players:** There are five files that need to be substituted, starting with "Lefty". Simply print those instead of the index file (i.e., print *Lefty_stock-SlideLockR.stl* instead of *index_stock-SlideLockR.stl*, etc.). * **Added files to fit metric-sized magnets:** These are for 20x5 mm disk magnets. Substitute the metric files for index_stock-BaseF, index_stock-BaseR, index_stock-FrontAttach, and index_stock-RearAttach. * **Added option for people who use the Index Booster attachment:** Simply substitute the index_stock-SlideLockF and index_stock-SlideLockR with Booster_SlideLockF and Booster_SlideLockR.
