Valve Index 58 IPD Position Holder

Valve Index 58 IPD Position Holder

For Valve Index owners who want to use the lowest IPD setting (58), a significant issue arises when bringing the lenses towards your face to increase the FOV as high as possible. As you move the lenses in so far, your nose will inevitably rest on the side of the lenses, and may even push them out while adjusting the IPD in the middle of an experience. I have designed this custom piece to fit snugly into the space within the IPD adjuster, holding it firmly in place at 58. It can be easily removed when needed for someone else. With this addition, you can move the lenses as close as desired without your nose interfering and pushing them out. This design was carefully created and thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance when printed in TPU. Do not print in regular plastic; instead, use 100% infil to produce a firm product. It is worth noting that I initially attempted to have the edges of the part flush with the IPD adjuster top but soon realized there was a chance it could get pushed into the goggle internals. By having it slightly over the wall, this risk is effectively eliminated.
