Vallejo Type Paint Bottle Rack v3 (Some Gussets)
thingiverse
A creative reimagining of an already innovative approach haha. • Shortened the rack to 4 slots to accommodate my printer's limitations, and I think it makes practical sense too - you can place a base, highlight, and shade on a rack, with the 4th slot reserved for a wash or brighter highlight as needed. • I'm working with stiff ABS-like resin and don't require any gussets, but I appreciate their aesthetic appeal, so I've left 3 in place. • Minoosh flips the racks around (the gussets serve as supports for a shelf), whereas I prefer them this way - screwheads won't interfere with caps since I'm using double-sided tape for mounting. Another idea is to make the gussets modular, printing them separately with pegs attached, then adding small holes to the rack between bottle slots where they can be securely fastened. They could serve as dividers. • After incorporating supports, each rack costs approximately 25 cents (assuming a $40 price tag for a 1000ml bottle). • Vallejo bottles' necks fit snugly in the slots, preventing them from falling off unless subjected to extreme force - think a monster truck, not a mythical creature. • Empty Vallejo bottles won't fit, unfortunately - they're shaped more like bullets and lack any discernible neck.
