The legendary Valkyries - fierce female warriors of Norse mythology, chosen by the gods to decide who would die in battle and be brought to Valhalla, a heavenly hall where brave warriors feast and fight alongside the gods. These magnificent creatures were said to ride into combat on horseback, their armor shining with gold and silver, as they singled out the worthy from among the fallen soldiers. Their role was not just to collect the souls of the dead, but also to protect them on their journey to the afterlife. In some accounts, Valkyries are depicted as beautiful maidens who seduce men into battle, while in others they appear as fierce warriors, fighting alongside the gods and goddesses of Asgard.
