Valify Robot Lawn Mower (concept body - under construction)
thingiverse
I've been fascinated with the idea of creating a robot lawnmower that's truly intelligent for quite some time now. By "robot," I mean one that can make its own decisions based on its environment and conditions. The reason this project excites me is that I've encountered numerous issues with existing robot lawn mowers, which are simply not sophisticated enough. Features I'm looking to incorporate: 1. No perimeter wire required. 2. Multiple driving styles (diagonal cut, pattern cut, etc.). 3. 3D mapping: Creating a detailed map of the garden in three dimensions. 4. Knowing exactly where the robot is within the garden at all times. 5. Automatic adjustment of mower blade height if it becomes too heavy when set to low. 6. Using a camera to recognize different types of grass and colors. Considering this wish list, I've come up with the following hardware specifications for my build: Jetson TX2 Development Kit Scanse Sweep Intel RealSense Camera ZR300 Two DC Planetary Geared Motors, 24-volt, with Hall IC, 30-33 RPM, 8mm diameter Two Vapex Li-Po Batteries, 6S, 22.2V, 4000mAh, 25C XT60 SparkFun 9DoF RoboClaw 2x45A ST Emlid Reach — RTK GNSS modules As for the mower motors, I haven't made a final decision yet. Please note that all models are subject to change daily and won't be directly uploaded. This project is ongoing and may contain errors or bugs. I appreciate any feedback you can provide, and I'll keep my ears open for useful suggestions. For more information on this build project, please visit http://valify.se
