My Annual 3D Printed Valentine for My Wife. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fKpfs8qbNA Valentine Heart Pendant: A Unique Dual Extrusion Print Design I designed a dual extrusion print in place hinged container to contain fitted photographs or other small objects. The heart-shaped "arrowhead" contains a 4mm hole for threading a chain, knitting thread, or color twine to wear as a pendant or bracelet. As I often do, I may have forgotten some files, so please point out any mistakes you notice. I use Autodesk Fusion 360 to design my prints and Cura 3.5.1 to slice them. Printing Details I printed the Valentine Heart Pendant in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended. The files for the dual extrusion base and lid are included below. Files Included The file "Heart Base Red.stl" is the red portion of the pendant base, and the file "Heart Base White.stl" is the white portion of the pendant base. I merged these two files using Cura 3.5.1 to create the "Heart Base.3mf" file. Similarly, the file "Heart Lid Red.stl" is the red portion of the pendant lid, and the file "Heart Lid White.stl" is the white portion of the pendant lid. I merged these two files using Cura 3.5.1 to create the "Heart Lid.3mf" file. To print a dual extrusion pendant, I load white PLA in extruder 1, red PLA in extruder 2, and send it to the printer with layer height set to .1mm and infill at 50%. Single Extrusion Printers For single extrusion printers, I merged "Heart Base White.stl" with "Heart Base Red.stl," and "Heart Lid White.stl" with "Heart Lid Red.stl." If needed, I can upload the merged base and lid files in .STL form for single extrusion printers. Troubleshooting If your Valentine Heart Pendant hinge "welds" (won't move), try printing the base and lid separately and carefully snapping the lid hinge sockets onto the base ball joints.
