Valence Clip

Valence Clip

Replacement clip for broken valence clips on a Venetian blind. I didn't have the piece that broke off, so I had to estimate the final shape based on memory and similar pictures I found using Google. Prototype was printed in yellow filament, but final versions used clear PLA. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm How I Designed This I used a flat-bed scanner to capture what was left of the original clip (because it was clear, I coloured in one edge with a black Sharpie marker to make it more distinct). The image was then imported into Inkscape, and the Trace Bitmap Path function was used to capture the outline. Once that was done, the path was edited (in Inkscape) to clean it up and to extend the clip to restore what I assumed was full original shape. This final path was exported as an SVG, and imported into 123D Design as a sketch, which was then extruded to its final shape. Category: Replacement Parts
