This clip serves to secure the coolant temperature sensor across numerous VAG Group engines. If yours is damaged, use it as a replacement. I've personally tested this part for an entire month with no issues. It replaces component 032 121 142. However, be cautious: after approximately two years of usage, the clip failed, resulting in coolant leakage.
