Vacuum Suction Reducer
thingiverse
I've finally gotten around to planning and designing something from scratch. As I'm learning the ropes of Sketchup along the way, I've come up with a solution for our Hoover Windtunnel Pro vacuum cleaner, which has an absurd amount of suction power that makes it almost impossible to move on our rugs. To address this issue, I needed a way to reduce the suction, and what I came up with is a device that uses adjustable airflow control. The initial version 1 had a triangular cutout in the ring for a progressively larger opening, but even when fully opened, it didn't provide enough relief from the suction. That's why I created version 2, which we're currently using without the ring at all – and it works surprisingly well.
