Vacuum Pump Oil Filter
thingiverse
I use a vacuum canister to dry my filament. It works so amazingly well.... Better than the oven or a dehydrator. But there's always a tiny bit of oil vapor that can come out of the exhaust for the pump. This filter catches most of the oil. And then when the pump turns off, it runs back down into the pump. No need to do any modifications to the little cap. Just glue it on. As an aside: If you're getting an excessive amount of oil blowing out, you have a leak somewhere. It shouldn't be that bad really. I normally get hardly any. But this takes care of that little bit. Clean and dry the filter thoroughly and remove all the oil from the cap. Then glue the body to the exhaust. I actually glue it just to make sure it's sealed. This is the only thing to glue, nothing else needs it. Put the baffle inside the body. Not on the edge... It's to stop the Poly fill from going back into the pump... Fill the rest of the filter with Polyfil. This is what I use from Walmart. I have fish tanks that I use in the filters, so I usually have some handy. Unfortunately, this small bag is probably enough to do 300 filters. At least it's cheap. Just fill it up well. But don't pack it tight and restrict the airflow. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Poly-Fil-Premium-Polyester-Fiberfill-12-Oz/26678911 Put the cap on. It's just that easy.
