This vacuum pickup was one of FRC Team 2605's concepts for game piece handling for the 2019 Deep Space competition, developed by the Go Seamonsters! We didn't end up using it initially, but the cargo ball vacuum pickup works well so I decided to post it now. It generates approximately 1 PSI of suction power, which is plenty to hold the ball securely in place. The rhinoceros-like hook is used for grabbing the hatch disk. It's designed specifically for use with one of the 775a motors, which operates at a speed of about 20,000 RPM. Make sure your print of the turbine part is fully fused and solidified to prevent it from flying apart under these high-speed conditions. For added safety, ensure that the cap part is securely in place before running the turbine. Solidworks 2011 models are included for anyone looking to modify this design for future competitions or other applications.
