Vacuum Hose Pivoting Adapter
thingiverse
I wanted to utilize my vacuum cleaner for a straightforward dust removal task. I acquired 4 meters of the cheapest vacuum hose and designed this adapter to make it fit snugly into my saw. The key feature of this adapter is its ability for the hose to pivot freely around the saw as I'm maneuvering the saw along the cut. **Printing Tips** To put it to use, you'll need to print three parts: - a threaded insert that screws onto the hose - a threaded cap that's screwed onto the threaded insert - a tip that's inserted into the power tool The threaded cap and the tip can be printed without support. I've attached two versions of the threaded insert: one plain and one with embedded support (so you won't need to configure any support inside the slicer). The threaded insert is a rather tight fit for my hose. If it's too tight for you, you can scale all parts a little bit or use the attached OpenSCAD file and modify the part diameter yourself. **Acknowledgments** I leveraged [the exceptional thread library by Dan Kirshner](https://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/).
