Vacuum Hose Adapter (Customizable)
thingiverse
This document outlines the design specifications to craft adapters capable of connecting hoses from various shops and households with equipment sporting round tool ports in any size.\nUsers can employ a Customizer tool to determine both the inner and outer diameters of each connector, as well as their individual lengths. Each adapter includes a grip ring located above its main body for providing traction when pulling it away from the hose or tool. However, please note that if precise total height is crucial, remember that this feature adds approximately two times the thickness of the adapter's wall to the final measurement. Optional features allow users to specify an inner circle at the lower section of smaller adapters preventing tools from being sucked in.\nAll measurements are entered using millimeters and should avoid trailing zeros when using decimals, e.g., 10.1 instead of 10.13 is preferable over 10.10. However, do note that the Customizer software tends to dislike such extra digits. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 10% Notes: -- I found that 10% infill to be adequate for printing ABS plastic. You may choose to adjust this accordingly. -- Keep in mind that an inadequately sized tapered section may lead to issues with prints; it is recommended you either redesign or add print supports if needed. -- My own experiences show slight inaccuracies between intended dimensions and those that my printer outputs, particularly with small features like internal circles (i.e. I had originally specified a 11.5mm hole but it was actually printed at about 10.8mm). Users should prepare for minor adjustments either digitally or by fine-tuning post-print. To troubleshoot any discrepancies, simply test your settings using the "large" end and pause the print around layer twenty for precise measurements of what's being printed in actuality.
