Vacuum Former V2
thingiverse
This is an updated version of my original vacuum former, which I designed a few years ago. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to my printer, so I won't be able to test it myself. However, it should print well with just a couple pieces requiring some support material. The design features a large base that can be mounted along with the hose routed out of the way. As a designer for Shapeways, you can find me here: https://www.shapeways.com/designer/jonathanmarch/hire-me There are two class sizes available: 200mm and 150mm. These sizes fit within printers of that size, with usable space measuring 154mm and 104mm respectively. The design consists of five pieces, with one being printed twice: * Main piece (150mm or 200mm): The main component to be printed * Clamp piece (150mm or 200mm): Clamps around the plastic and needs to be printed twice * Slot piece (150mm or 200mm): A plate for the object to sit on, measuring 154mm or 104mm * Angled pipe: Connects to the main piece underneath, with an inner diameter of 27mm if you need to create an adapter * Universal adapter: Connects to the angled pipe and accommodates hoses from 27-40mm The slot piece is seated within the main piece. Two clamp pieces are used together, with a piece of plastic in between them. Then, the angled pipe is glued to the main piece, and the universal adapter is attached to the angled pipe. I recommend using PVC cement to connect the pieces. I have also included .stp files in the zip file for easier editing.
