Vacuum Former
pinshape
This is a Rep-Rap style CNC vacuum former design engineered for Nema 17 motors and an in-house DIY heater. Stock electronics comprise Arduino Uno, TB6560 stepper drivers, and an Itead Nextion 320x240 LCD touchscreen. A full 200x200 print area is required for the vacuum bed, which also necessitates an entire roll of PLA plastic and approximately 35 hours to print. Most other components were fabricated from ABS for added flexibility. Additional non-3D printed parts required include: 2 - 12"x14.75" steel or aluminum sheets for frame construction; 4 - 8mmx500mm linear rods; 4 - LM8UU linear bearings; 2 - Nema 17 stepper motors; 2 - GT2 16 tooth gears; 2m GT2 timing belt; 1mmx5mm Neodimium magnet; 1/4" case magnetic proximity switch; 2 - 5v controlled relays; 1 - 2000W AC PWM controller; DIY Heater Assembly consisting of a solenoid valve and 3/4" Watertight conduit fitting; miscellaneous screws, wires, junction boxes, and switches. Arduino Uno and Nextion display firmware are also available.
