Vacuum Assembly
thingiverse
For my home CNC machine, I required a vacuum adapter that would fit my Dewalt 611 without impeding tool swap or air flow. The main issue with the Dewalt 611 is its active cooling system, which maintains safe operable temperature and exhausts onto the work area. This setup makes sense for clearing sawdust/debris and preventing clogged fan ducts if the direction were reversed. This design redirects the Dewalt 611 exhaust laterally away from the work space, allowing the vacuum to draw air in from under the skirt to keep your workshop clean and tidy! My pet peeve is using glue because it's unforgiving, so this assembly was designed for a snap-together fit using spacer rings and fridge magnets (3x5mm). Materials needed: - Fridge magnets - Screw & Nut - Clear plastic skirt (available at local hardware stores) After printing the parts, press-fit the magnets into the holes with your thumb or by pushing them against a flat surface. **Note**: if you try to hot-press them in using an iron or heat gun, the magnets will lose their polarity. Cut the plastic sheet to the desired height and length, then snap it into place. If your skirt is catching on the material as your CNC runs, cut little slits at the bottom 3mm to prevent this. Happy making!
