Vaccine Storage for the Last Mile!"There is a serious need for a reliable cold storage facility for vaccines in the African region. The approaches for vaccination drive like Controlled Temperature Chain (CTC) are often jeopardized by a lack of reliable electricity in such regions. In the words of Toby Peters, the last mile is the biggest challenge, and it is where there is the biggest gap. We aimed at filling this gap with our product, VacShield. The product is designed to store more than 14,000 doses of vaccines in the temperature range of 2-8°C, for around 30 days without any external source of energy. This would eliminate the problem of the lack of low-temperature storage facilities at health centers and hospitals. To reuse the product again, we will need to refill the hydrogen tanks.
