V6 X Carriage for mounting on existing extruder bracket
thingiverse
This remix has its roots in an existing mount, but I'm having trouble tracking down where I got it from. If someone points me in the right direction or I manage to find it myself, I'll be happy to share the link. The BL Touch Jacket is essentially a revised version of this original design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3197149 I created this mount for my own custom-built printer, which was originally designed for parts of a broken 3Novatica Gate and a damaged Anet A8. My goal was to incorporate the existing extruder bracket that mounted an E3D V6, while also adding Noctura fans to minimize the overall printer volume. CHANGES I MADE: I flipped both the object and the BL Bracket. Added mounting holes for the motor mount bracket. Significantly modified the Clamp to make it narrower, keeping the holes in the same position for easier installation. Created grooves on top of the BL Touch Jacket to prevent screws from getting in the way. Reduced the nozzle height of the Jacket by 1.5mm as it was too low for proper probe engagement. PROBE OFFSET The working offset on my printer is set at X31.50 Y-27.00. PRINTING SETTINGS Carriage: 60% infill Clamp: 100% infill Mount: 100% infill Jacket: 20% infill ASSEMBLY RECOMMENDATIONS I suggest using a heat gun to gently heat the neck holder of the clamp and carriage for about 10 seconds, then pressing the V6 into place. This will ensure a snug fit. Repeat this process with the Jacket by heating it from inside, pushing the BL as far as possible, removing, and repeating until the jacket is perfectly formed around the BL. It should take some force to remove at this point.
