V2.5 Better Xacto Knife Handle

I had tried multiple of my own ideas in an attempt to solve a couple issues with my V2 design, but EasyT2022 on Thingiverse already remixed a great one! I took his idea and just adapted it to my original model.

I made two versions, with one requiring a heat-set threaded insert and the other simply using nut. Each version has a higher tolerance blade slot (HT) for well-calibrated printers, and a lower tolerance blade slot (LT) for slightly less calibrated machines. All versions can be scaled slightly if necessary, although too much may lead to fit issues.

On top of the M2 threaded insert or nut, you will need an M2x6mm screw.

Print Settings

Printer: Prusa i3 MK3

Rafts: Doesn't Matter

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.2 mm

Infill: 20%

Filament:Doesn't matter

Notes:

Print in a stiffer filament for best usability; I used Kimya Carbon Fiber PETG in the picture. As a bonus, the carbon fiber helps with overhangs and gives a really nice surface finish, but normal PLA/PETG/ABS should work fine!

Category: Tools
