V-Twin Compound Engine

V-Twin Compound Engine

This concept involves modifying a "90º V-Twin" engine for improved efficiency through compounded operation, with one cylinder (Low Pressure) utilizing exhaust gases from the other (High Pressure) via a central manifold. By optimizing the timing, this design maximizes energy collection from high pressure waves and reduces exhaust gas temperatures. The idea has been pitched to engine manufacturers but awaits investor interest; it could potentially transform existing V engines into cost-effective, high-efficiency models with minimal development costs. Credit goes to Frank Schaefer's Briggs&Stratton Vanguard V-Twin engine for inspiration.
