V-Slot Tap Holders
thingiverse
Tapping the End holes on V-Slot Openbuilds extrusion can be quite difficult, as keeping the tap straight is a significant challenge. To address this issue, I have designed and created a tap holder for each of the currently available V-Slot profiles. Two versions are offered for each extrusion profile: one with a 5mm bore and another with a 6.25mm bore. The 5mm option is suitable for regular taps, while the 6.25mm bore version is commonly used in conjunction with Drill/Tap Bits that have a 6.25mm (1/4") shank. Each holder provides coverage of 20mm of the extrusion to ensure the tap remains square and straight. Tap holders are available for all profiles, including 20x20, 20x40, 20x60, 20x80, 40x40, and C-beam. Note: The photo appears slightly crooked due to the use of a tap that was smaller than the bore in the holder. However, this does not affect the functionality of the device.
