Hazzah! Purpose and Theory: To redirect the absoutely insane amount of light bleed from my cheap light bar I purchased and help me from being blinded by the light if I wanna check my prints. This helps redirect the light on to the print bed because I do not need another lamp in my room. Background: Behold! the much needed, Ender 3 v2 or Ender 3 led light shade! As I progresed into the 3d print hobby I purchased an inexpensive sub $10 light bar off amazon to fully illuminate and capture my octoprint time lapses. I in a former life was a photographer and notices much of the wonderfully diffuse light was going everwhere including the printer's bed. Also I am somewhat light senistive and made it hard to look and be around the printer. So I watched a few youtube videos and downloaded fusion 360 and whipped up a proper shade for this light bar or any led bar that is installed into the v-slot gantry. I presume this would also work on any 3d printer that uses aluminum 20mmx20mm v-slot extrusions like many of the enders and ender clones. my light bar(non affilate link): "UniTak3D 3D Printer LED Light Embedded 24V Light Bar Upgrade Kit for Creality Ender 3 V2 Ender 3 Pro Ender 5 CR10 Series 2020 Profile" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0972HFBRL Print settings: This could be a difficult print to make because it does not really have a large face to print off of. I have included a photo of how I printed my own shade, shade side (facing the light) facing down. Supports: Yes there is almost no way to avoid supports with this. Versions: I have included a few versions. V3: 205mm (x2 = 410mm) For the front you want to print 2x of the version 3 stl files which are 205mm long and should cover the front entirely of gantry of the ender3 v2. You could also print 2 more to cover the back. V2: 125mm (x2 = 250mm) If you have have Z screw (I don't know the proper nomincature) support you may want to print just one of the V2 files they are 125mm long and double up were supposed to just cover the lighted area. One of these comvbined with a V3 may fit well with a Z screw support device. V1: Will never see the light of day and is embarassment to all. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: Ender 3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Infill: 20% Cubic Filament: Monoprice PLA Blue Notes: Ender 3 v2 at 0.2mm layer resolution with a BIQU Super Spring Sheet bed. You do not have to use blue filament I just wanted to keep everything a consistent color on my printer. I would suggest using white filament for best results, perhaps a glossy silk filament would have more reflectivity. I did 20% infill but you may want to do more Category: 3D Printer Accessories
