V-dipole antenna construction set
I'm excited to share my attempt at building a V-dipole antenna for weather sat image reception. The set includes: * Antenna base (120 degrees) featuring: + 2 x 16mm chocolate blocks (CHS TBS 16mm2 / NF 1751AP) + 2 x aluminum rods (diameter 4mm - length 53.4mm) + 1 x SO239 / 83-1R UHF connector + 4 x M3 bolts and nuts to mount the SO239 to the base + 2 x M3 bolts and nuts to attach the base to the support + 2 x 3mm screws to fix the cover to the base + silicone as needed * Cap or cover: + Small version 1 + Larger version 2 that covers the connectors * Support/mast clamp for standard 50mm, 40mm, and 32mm PVC tube (requires 4 M6 bolts, washers, and nuts) The construction of this antenna follows the well-known 'Adam-9A4QV manual' available at http://rfelektronik.se/manuals/Datasheets/DIY%20137MHz%20WX-sat%20V-dipole%20antenna.pdf. In comparison to other DIY projects, this set is easier to construct: * No need to bend the aluminum rods, they simply go straight into the chocolate blocks * Only two short wires need to be soldered between the SO239 and the 2 chocolate blocks Enjoy building your V-dipole antenna!
