V-Channel / D-Bot USB Vacuum Holster

This is a simple clip/holster to hold a USB-powered vacuum to a 20mm v-channel extrusion, as used on the D-Bot and derived printers. These are handy for cleaning out the little bits of plastic and filament that invariably get trapped around the print bed and the extrusions holding it, and around the base of the printer.

This is designed to hold this particular USB vacuum: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071V7PFCM

The model seems to be a fairly generic imported one, and seemingly identical ones are sold by a slew of vendors, but that's the specific one I have.

This is particularly handy with my D-bot power supply cap with USB power ports: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2493619

As a note, you'll probably want to use a rounded-top M5 screw for the top screw, rather than cap head, as a cap head will keep the vacuum from sitting all the way down.

Print Settings

Printer:

D-Bot

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2mm

Infill:

20%

Notes:

You could probably print this with either the wide or narrow end down. Depending on your printer and slicer, you may need to print it one way or another. With Slic3r, I found it missed the bottom layer if the narrow end printed down. I also needed to print it with a small brim because its fairly big with a very small touch on the bed. On slower printers, it may stick fine on its own.

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
