This automotive application serves both truck and passenger purposes, featuring pushrods but excluding heads and other components. Pending decisions involve front main and rear main bearing positions. Microbabbitt two-layer plain bearings are utilized for the camshaft, which has stepped OD and constant ID for easy installation with a slide hammer tool. The top end measures 4.41 inches per bay while the bottom averages 4.65 inches. Cylinder banks are offset by 0.5 inches, with the left bank being forward to position #2 cylinder at the front journal. The crankshaft follows a 90-degree right rotation from the second to first journal, with third and fourth journals opposite each other at 180 degrees. Intended for counterclockwise rotation as viewed from the front, it comes equipped with roller hydraulic lifters but lacks a completed oiling system. The short block assembly presents no camshaft. With a 4.25-inch bore and 4-inch stroke, it would yield 453.96 cubic inches, while the crankshaft's lower placement by 0.98 inches allows clearance for wide big ends amidst the camshaft section of the cylinder and case assembly.
