In an engine block, the camshaft must rotate counterclockwise when the even or left side bank is forward offset. To install it correctly, first turn it clockwise 45 degrees from the index position, aligning #1 with TDC upon power stroke completion. Next, rotate it 180 degrees counterclockwise for accurate #1 firing TDC timing post-compression.
