V 686 Gear protector V 1.0
thingiverse
I have spent countless hours scouring the web for a reliable replacement part or modification to safeguard my V686J from WL Toys. Unfortunately, even with its built-in propeller guard, I had a brutal first crash onto concrete that shredded the gears beyond repair. These replacement parts may be budget-friendly but take an agonizing 3-4 weeks to arrive, making them a poor solution. In light of this, I designed my own protector cap, which is my inaugural attempt at crafting a scratch-built fix for a problem. My design is somewhat rough around the edges due to my inexperience with AutoCAD, yet it surprisingly fits snugly on the propeller hub. For added security, you can use a small rubber band to keep it in place – if you deem it necessary. Print Settings Printer: Newmatter Mod-T Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 100% Infill: 25% Notes: I print using a Newmatter MOD-T. Currently, I am employing Hatchbox Orange 1.75mm PLA at 205°C.
