The Uwharrie Plain jar rim was discovered at the Haw River Site in Chatham County, North Carolina. This site is significant as it dates back to the Late Woodland period, specifically during the Uwharrie phase, which spans from AD 800-1200. The ceramic material used to create this jar rim is of particular interest, measuring 127.1 mm in length, 115.3 mm in width, and a thickness of 8.9 mm. This artifact has been cataloged as no. 2137p154 within the North Carolina Archaeological Collection at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology located at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
