UW6201 - Lagomorpha, Tibia
sketchfab
Human: Epoch: Ice Age\nState, County: Wyoming, Albany County\nTaxonomy: Mammalia>Lagomorpha\nLagomorphs are a sister group to rodents, and consist of modern-day rabbits, hares, and pikas. Lagomorphs first emerged in the Eocene era and have an extensive fossil record originating in Asia and spreading across Asia, Europe, and North America over millions of years during the Cenozoic. The fossil record of lagomorphs and their modern counterparts has a substantial amount of taxonomic separation, which makes it challenging to compare and study them as a cohesive group. This specimen, a fossilized tibia from the Pleistocene era, is likely more closely related to modern lagomorphs than other ancient lagomorph fossils. \nScanned with advanced 3D technology.
