Human: Intelligent Environment Disinfection Faced with the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, I took action to contribute to fighting this outbreak. I was not inventing a new solution that didn't already exist and is widely used for treating water, surfaces, and air we breathe. Its use has been limited due to harmful consequences from UV-C light exposure. Considering the benefits and risks, but with the goal of making it user-friendly and accessible for ordinary people, I created an intelligent system that's easy to operate and protects individuals from radiation, reserving its use for disinfecting air and surfaces only. This leaves them free of microorganisms such as H1N1, COVID-19, influenza, among others. Equipped with a radio frequency presence sensor, the system automatically shuts down whenever it detects people or animals in the environment to protect them. It returns to operation once there's no longer a risk condition present. In manual mode, the system pauses during passage and resumes once safe. In auto mode, it starts disinfecting after a programmed delay. The system applies 5-10 minutes of UV-C light exposure but maintains protection from light exposure by immediately ceasing when detection occurs and restarting once safe. After exposure, the system enters standby mode, waiting for new transit and starting a new disinfection cycle. To simplify operation, I created an Android app that provides real-time information and control over the equipment, making it easily accessible in one's hand as shown in screenshots of the app. Designed to be used in various environments, including homes, offices, ambulances, elevators, and more, this system has enough power to sterilize areas in just over twenty minutes of operation, depending on the space.
